Chicken Eggs

We offer fresh eggs from our flock of Australorp and Easter Egger chickens, raised on our farm in Everton, Missouri.

Australorp

Australorps are an Australian breed developed in the early 1900s from Black Orpingtons. They have glossy black feathers with a greenish sheen in the sunlight and are known for their calm, friendly temperament and excellent laying ability. Australorps hold world records for egg production and are reliable layers year-round. They adapt well to various climates and are easy to care for, making them a favorite among small farms and backyard flocks.

Australorp eggs: Medium to large brown eggs with a rich, golden yolk. The shells are sturdy and the eggs have a classic, full flavor that works well for baking, scrambling, or frying.

Easter Egger

Easter Eggers are not a standardized breed but a hybrid type descended from Ameraucana and Araucana chickens. They come in a wide variety of colors and feather patterns — you might see muffs, beards, or clean faces — and each bird has its own personality. What unites them is their ability to lay eggs in shades of blue, green, olive, or sometimes pinkish-tinted shells. Easter Eggers are known for being curious, hardy, and often quite friendly.

Easter Egger eggs: Medium-sized eggs with blue, green, or olive shells. The egg inside is the same as any other chicken egg — white or cream-colored with a yellow yolk — but the colorful shells make them a delight to collect and use. The flavor is mild and versatile.

Our Eggs

Our eggs are gathered daily from chickens that free-range on our farm. We feed a quality layer ration supplemented with kitchen scraps and forage. Customers can request brown eggs, Easter eggs (blue or green), or a mix. We will do our best to accommodate preferences, but if no preference is specified we will provide a mixed dozen.

Note: At this time we are not taking new egg customers, but we are expanding our flock and expect to have more slots available by the end of summer 2026.
